Hey Baby

Hello Peachies! Nikki here with a baby card today. I started by stamping the baby and his face from the adorable Hey Baby set. I super quick colored him with antique linen distress ink and an ink blending tool. I stamped and paper pieced his hat from that Hey Baby set.
I stamped and paper pieced his diaper from the May 2013 set. It fits him just perfectly. :) And to finish, I white heat embossed the greeting from the Hey Baby set.

I hope your weekend is just PEACHY! :)

You may want to put on your sunglasses...

HA! Like the title of this post??? ;) The other day I watched a documentary called "Just Like Being There". It's about gig posters, and the artists who make them. Well, I got super inspired! I loved the 60's era gig posters, and had this card in my head immediately. So, I ordered Hero Arts Neon Inks. :) I stamped the Here Comes The Sun background from MarketStreetStamps first with neon yellow ink. Then I twisted the stamp to offset it a bit and stamped with neon orange. Then I punched out a circle so I could add some sequins for the sun. I promise in real life the sequins pick up the colors. They don't look bluish and purplish in person.
I can't tell you how incredibly relaxing I find gluing sequins to be. LOVE it! I stamped the greeting from the You're Brilliant set from MyCreativeTime. Then I added some black sequins to finish it off.

I hope you're having a great day!

p.s. The sequins I used on this card came from HERE

Thoughtful Thursday

Hello! It's Thoughtful Thursday over at MyCreativeTime. My card today is one I made for my nephew Zach who just got his driver's licence. GASP! ;) I started by stamping the three polka dotted squares from the Coffee Break set. I stamped them in Pale Tomato, Butter Bar, and Green Hill Hero Arts shadow inks. I did them in this order to mimic a traffic light. :) Then I stamped the cars from the fab set called You Are Here. I gave them silver headlights. Then I stamped the boy from the We Are Family set next to the cars.
I stamped the greeting from the It's All About You set in the middle square. And finished it off by adding the arrows from the You Are Here set.

Pop over to MyCreativeTime to see more creations!

p.s. I am happy to report that the brand new driver dug his card. :)

PeachyKeen + Sequins = super fun :)

Hello, and HAPPY FRIDAY!!! I made this card in a jiffy today using a stamp from PeachyKeenStamps. WHAT?! Yup, there is a stamp from PeachyKeen on this card...see it? Give up??? Ok, I'll spill. I stamped the Large Polka Dot background with soft granite Hero Arts shadow ink. Then I simply covered the dots with silver sequins. FUN! By using the Large Polka Dot background stamp as a guide, I got perfectly placed rows of sequins! Score!
That fab sentiment is from the Great Big Greetings set by MarketStreetStamps. This card came together so quickly, and would make a fabulous set for a gift! :)

A Cupcake made of...SEQUINS! :)

Well, it's official, I'm addicted to sequins. There, I've said it! I wish these little suckers didn't freak my camera out, this looks WAY cooler in real life! I used my Silhouette to cut out the cupcake shape. Then I lightly traced around it to make and outline for where I needed to make my sequin patterns. And then it was just a matter of mindless gluing for a few hours. :) I ♥ that part! Just turn on some tunes and glue. BUT here is a cautionary tale for you. If you have piles of sequins in front of you, and "Sittin' on the Dock of the Bay" comes on, hit mute. Do NOT whistle along with it. Ask me how I know. WHOOPS! But, I digress... I stamped the first layer with the Happy Definition background by Hero Arts. If you look closely, right above the cupcake it says "super yummy". I think this turned out super yummy! :)
I popped up the top layer to give the sequins room and create a "shadow". Finished by adding some pink sequins with bling centers. Hey, did I mention I ♥ sequins? HA ;)

Seriously, I wish the pictures would show how cool this looks in real life. Le sigh.

Have a shiny day!

MCT Thrifty Thursday

Hello! Today is another Thrifty Thursday over at MyCreativeTime. For my card today I've used more scraps from my Hello Luscious pad by Basic Grey. I cut out the cute girl in the tub using the Playtime cricut cartridge. The card base is from the Songbird cricut cartridge. The girl's face is from the adorable Princess Face Assortment from PeachyKeenStamps. I white heat embossed the sentiment from the So Grateful For You set from MyCreativeTime
For the "metal" parts of the tub, I used brushed pewter distress stain. Then I wanted to add shine, so I coated them with glossy accents. Then, a happy accident happened! :) When the glossy accents had dried, the brushed pewter appeared cracked underneath, COOL! :) And for the bubbles, I used rock candy stickles.

Pop over to MyCreativeTime to see more thrifty creations! :)

p.s. This card is a Thank You card for my Mom in Law. She got me my favorite Origin's Ginger bath goodies for my birthday. She spoils me! :)

SEQUINS!!! :)

Hello! I totally dreamed this card last night, and woke up and made it. :) The pictures aren't great, I think it blinded my camera. ;) Anyhoo, I used the Hannah Montana cricut cartridge to cut out the negative space for the music notes. I traced the notes on another piece of paper and covered it in sequins. SO FUN! I found it therapeutic, like my beloved paper piecing. :)
SO SHINY AND FUN!!! YAY! I ♥ SEQUINS!!! tee hee! Ok, I got off track there for a second... I popped up the negative music note layer so the sequins had some room. And that fab sentiment is from the Great Big Greetings set from MarketStreetStamps.

I had music on the brain because...My Sailor and I are road trippin' on down to see Alan Jackson tonight! YEE HAW! I ♥ him! I wore out tons of his tapes...and then CD's. :)

Have a SHINY HAPPY weekend!

♥ Nikki ♥

Peachy Keen Challenge

Hello Peachy pals! It's time for another Peachy Keen Challenge. This challenge is a Photo Inspiration with the above photo. You can make anything you want, just use the photo as a jumping off point. When I was looking at the photo, I was drawn to the gradation in the colors on the flower petal. It immediately made me think of a sunset/sunrise sky. So that's how I came up with my card...
I started by inking up the Cloudy Day background stamp with Butter Bar, Orange Soda, and Pale Tomato Hero Arts Shadow Inks. Shadow inks blend like a dream! LOVE! Then I masked the face off of the Large Sun stamp so I could give it a different face. The face is from the Sweet And Silly Face assortment set. I colored the sun in just a few seconds with a blending tool and Butter Bar and a little bit of Orange Soda shadow inks.
I stamped the greeting from the Baby Easter Bunny set. And I finished it off with my new obsession...SEQUINS! :)

Thrifty Thursday at MyCreativeTime

Hello bloggy friends! It's time for another Thrifty Thursday over at MyCreativeTime. This is the day when we all use up our scraps!  Today I used a bunch of scraps I had shoved in my Hello Luscious by Basic Grey paper pad. TIP: When you're going to paper piece, it's a great way to use up little bits of scraps. :) I also like to cut strips of scrap patterned paper to make my own designs. Super quick and easy. I stamped and paper pieced the hot air balloon from the Fly Away With Me set. There are also dies to go along with this set, but since my vagabond died, I cut the base out by hand.
I stamped the greeting from the Fly Away With Me Sentiments and white heat embossed it.

Pop over to MyCreativeTime to see more creations. :)

Peachy Keen Release Party Challenges! :)

The release party chat is over, but now you can get started on the challenges! Challenge #1 is to create a project with flowers on it. For my card, I paper pieced the UDDERLY adorable little cow from the brand new May 2013 set. I used flowery patterned paper for her hooves and horns. And the other bits were stamped on text patterned paper. I then inked those with gathered twigs distress ink.
The greeting is from the new May 2013 set as well. And that sweet flower in her "hair"? That's from the fantastically cute new set called Hey Baby. And here's my card for the next challenge...
Is this floatin' froggie hoppin' adorable or what?! Challenge #2 is to create a shaped card. I used the Songbird cricut cartridge for my card base. It turns out my Gyspy is still not welding correctly, so I just cut the bottom layer twice and stuck them together at the top to make a card base. I stamped the adorable frog from the new Female Floatin' Frog set...and had lots of fun paper piecing. :) The greeting is also from that set

So pop over to the Peachy Keen Connection to play along. :)

And pop over to PeachyKeenStamps to get your paws on the NEW RELEASE!!!

Peachy Keen Sneak Peek

Hello peachy friends! It's sneaky time for PeachyKeenStamps again. You guys are gonna swoon over this release! Adorable to the maxx! :) I paper pieced that sweet little piggy from the new May 2013 set.
I made a thought bubble and white heat embossed the greeting from the new May 2013 set. A very simple card, but with a piggy that cute it doesn't need much. ;)

Pop over to the PeachyKeen Blog to see more sneaks!

MCT Designer Challenge

Hiya! It's Designer Challenge day over at MyCreativeTime. The challenge this time is to create a set of 4 3x3 cards...and if you want, to make them animal themed. I rediscovered how cute the Birthday Bash cricut cartridge is when I made this set. :) I used the Celebrate Good Times set from MyCreativeTime for all of my cards.
Their faces are from the Critter Faces Small set from PeachyKeenStamps.
Faces again from that same set.

Pop over to MyCreativeTime to play along!

♥ Nikki ♥
