His and Hers Birthday Cards

Today was day 2 of "His and Hers" over at OnlineCardClasses.com. Our homework today was to make some birthday cards. Can you tell which is "his" and which is "hers"? LOL! :) I used the fantastic set from MarketStreetStamps called Dreaming Of The Sea to stamp all those cute anchors.
I stamped the anchors in Navy Hero Arts Shadow Ink for my "his" card. Using the Fiskars Stamp Press makes creating a repeating pattern really easy. {and fun!} I stamped the sentiment from the set called Great Big Greetings by MarketStreetStamps on vellum and heat embossed it. And here is my blingified "her" version...
I stamped the anchors with Bubble Gum Hero Arts Shadow Ink. YAY! Pink anchors! :) Same sentiment stamp as the "his" card. I added some pink gems and called her done. As a Navy Wife, I really love how these cards turned out! {and I know some peeps that will love them too}

I hope you've had a fantastic day!

His and Hers

Hello! Today was day one of the new "His and Hers" class at OnlineCardClasses.com. The class is all about adapting cards for "him" or "her". I made two cards and switched up the colors to make a "his" and "her" version. I masked off a strip for the sentiment and then I stamped stars from the Year Round Sentiments set by Hero Arts. I also stamped the "nautical" stars from the Dreaming Of The Sea set from MarketStreetStamps. And the tiny black stars are from the It's A Magical Season set by MyCreativeTime.
I stamped the greeting after I peeled up the mask. The greeting is from the Everyday Sayings set by Hero Arts. And here is my "his" version of this card...
I switched to more boyish ink colors on this one. For both cards I used all Hero Arts Shadow Inks. And Ranger Archival Black ink for this greeting from that Everyday Sayings set again.
There you have it, my take on "his" and "hers" for today. :)

SPRING FLING BLOG HOP

Hello peachies! You should have arrived from Emma's blog, if not, head HERE to start at the beginning! For my card, I started my creating my background with the sweet little bee stamp that was a freebie with your PeachyKeenStamps order a few weeks ago. I cut the two label shapes with my cricut from the Cricut Craft Room Basics cartridge. I have fallen back in love with my cricut since the Gypsy and Craft Room can now be synced! YAY! Anyhoo, I cut that sweet bee girl from the Trick Or Treat cricut cartridge. Her adorable face is from The Moodies Face Assortment
The greeting is from the Honey Sentiments set. I used yellow stickles to make her sparkle. :)

Your next stop on the hop is the fabulous SAUNDRA

MCT Thrifty Thursday

Hello! It's Thrifty Thursday over at MyCreativeTime. Today is when we use up our scraps. I had this yellow polka dot scrap sitting out, so I decided to use it. I stamped the light bulbs from the new set called You're Brilliant. I drew in a string for them, and paper pieced the center bulb.
The greeting is also from the new You're Brilliant set. I used my sakura stardust glitter pen to add sparkle to the bulbs.

I hope you have a fantastic day!

DIY Stencil with MCT Button Dies :)

Hello! I have 2 cards to share today that I made using a stencil I created with the Stitched Button Dies from MyCreativeTime. I had first made a stencil with my go to Post-It paper and I really liked it...so I thought I'd make one that I could keep and use over and over. So I grabbed some packaging from a background stamp made a stencil. I just placed the two dies on it over and over until I got the look I was going for. Voila! A custom made stencil in just a few minutes! SCORE! :) Here is the first card I made with it...
Here I used my little sponge daubers to apply different Hero Arts Shadow Inks for a rainbow look. The trick is to pounce on the color so that the ink doesn't bleed under the stencil/mask. I stamped the greeting from the new Life Is Good set from MyCreativeTime
The people and the baby in the stroller are from the new We Are Family set from MyCreativeTime. And here is my second card using that same stencil/mask, but getting a completely different look by spray inking instead...
For this one, I went in a "messier" direction. :) I made my own spray ink with a Picked Raspberry distress ink reinker and a mini mister. I put a dropper full of reinker and a little water in the mini mister, and BAM, my own spray ink! I put my cardstock in a box {avoids a ginormous mess} and put the stencil/mask on top of it and sprayed until I got what I wanted color wise. Then I lifted up the mask and added some ink splatters as well...
The greeting and the curved arrow are from the new It's All About You set from MyCreativeTime. The other arrow is from the new You Are Here set. To finish off both cards, I added some black gems.

I hope you are having a FABULOUS day! Now...lemme go scrub this ink off my hands. ;)

♥ Nikki ♥

p.s. I used Ranger's Archival Jet Black ink...my all time favorite black ink.

MCT April 24th Edition Release Blog Hop

Hello! You should have arrived from Nancy's Blog, if not, head HERE to start at the beginning. For my card today I did some simple masking to make a one layer card {well almost one layer}. I started by cutting out the frame from the new Stitched Capture Frame and Arrow Dies. I cut it from Post-It paper which is sticky all over like a Post-It. I positioned it on my card and stamped over it with the fabulous Love Collage Background Stamp. I then traced around the frame with a black marker...Peeled up the mask and BAM...you're left with the negative image. :)
I stamped the people from the new set called We Are Family. The "missing you" greeting is from the new set called It's All About You. And the arrow is from the new You Are Here set.

MCT Sneak Peek #4

Hello! It's day four of sneaks for this ginormous release from MyCreativeTime. :) I started by stamping the "background" from the new set called Journal It. I made a little x in the September box as that is my and my hubs anniversary month. I stamped the year in using the Just Simply Live set. Personalizing rocks! :) I then used the new Stitched Restroom Peeps Dies to cut out the man and woman. I love using the negative space. I did the same with the heart from the Stitched Button Dies and put some patterned paper behind it. I then added glossy accents to the people and the heart.
I don't know why it looks so yucky in the pic, but at least you can see the shine. Looks cool in real life, I promise! :) Pop over to MyCreativeTime to see lots more sneaks!
